New issue of Martinů revue out now
This year's last issue of Martinů Revue is finally out. What will you find inside?
Apart from regular columns and news from the music world, the third and final Martinů Revue of 2013 includes some brand new findings as well. You will learn what Martinů wrote on Wagner whose 200th anniversary we remembered in May this year. Severin Kolb dedicated his essay to Alexandr bis, opera buffa in 1 act and its recent performance in Zurich. A new inside-look on Bohuslav Martinů and his inseparable companion Stanislav Novák is revealed in memories of the first wife of Max Švabinský, Ela, whose cousin maintained correspondence with Martinů around 1922. These letters were discovered only by chance a few months ago. The issue also goes back to Albert Roussel and Martinů's residence in Paris; a thorough essay by Pavel Sýkora dedicated to Ariane is a must-read. too. And the highlight of this issue? New previously unpublished photograph of Charlotte and Bohuslav Martinů, this time in colour.
