"Bouquet of Flowers" to be staged site-specific in September
For three evenings between September 14 - 16, the historical location of Prague's Lesser Town (Malá Strana) cemetery will host a dance show "Bouquet of Flowers" by Bohuslav Martinů written on lyrics by František Sušil and Karel Jaromír Erben. The show will be staged in several places across the cemetery at the same time, underlining the composition's main outline and its philosophical meaning. Sculptures made by famous Czech artist Olbram Zoubek are placed around the cemetery. The stage underlines the contrast between the real and the symbolic, between the obvious and the mysterious, the outer and inner.
Featuring:
Choreography and direction: Eva Blažíčková
Dance: Dora Sulženko Hoštová, Dagmar Chaloupková, Radim Klásek, Zuzana Sýkorová and a choir of dances of four generations
The three performances are also a prologue to the 2014 Bohuslav Martinů Days festival and will be featured in the Czech TV's documentary on the YEAR OF CZECH MUSIC
