Video with Jiří Bělohlávek on Bohuslav Martinů Complete Edition
Watch a short film about the Bohuslav Martinů Complete Edition, in which the director of the Bohuslav Martinů Institute, Aleš Březina, discusses the importance of this project. The video features Jiří Bělohlávek, Jakub Hrůša and the members of Pavel Hass Quartet.
The Bohuslav Martinů Complete Edition (BMCE) was launched in 2015. For the first time, it makes available in the form of a scholarly-critical edition all of Martinů's compositions in all versions and arrangements made or authorized by the composer, as well as newly discovered or never before published works. Editorially, the individual volumes are prepared by the Bohuslav Martinů Institute on behalf of the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation. The publisher of the project is Bärenreiter Praha
The planned 100 volumes are divided into seven series. Each volume is bound in cloth (25.5 x 32.3 cm), contains a comprehensive preface to the work, a rich facsimile section and an extensive critical apparatus, in which the differences between the various sources and the possibilities of interpreting the musical text are highlighted.
