Experience Martinů! is a varied program for all ages, which appeals to both laymen and classical music lovers, and gives everyone the opportunity to experience music in their own way. The event will introduce the life of Bohuslav Martinů in Polička, entice children to discover classical music and regional history, and offer a meaningful experience for everyone for the whole day.
Throughout the day, it will be possible to climb the 192 steps to Martinů's birthplace in the tower of the church of St. Jakub, where visitors will be welcomed by members of the Martin family, including little Bohuslav.
The musical playrooms for children at the town hall will offer a program full of music and the dance workshops will interest all enthusiasts of rhythm, movement, lovers of dance steps, relaxation and creativity. You can also go for a wallk through the special guided tour with active tasks around the places where Martinů went to school, where he learned the violin or where he spent his free time.
The all-day interactive projection on the screen with musical motifs will especially encourage children to be actively involved and move their bodies. At any time during the day, those interested can also go to the Palačinka café, where they will have the opportunity to enjoy excellent coffee with desserts prepared according to the family recipes of the composer's sister Marie Martinů.
In the late afternoon, there will be a concert "Serious music not seriously" intended primarily for children. Parents don't have to be afraid to take their restlessness children here, maybe they will be able to arouse cultural enthusiasm. And the day-long event will end with a festive concert by the Moravian Piano Trio in the restored baroque town hall and a film projection in the museum garden.
