The multifarious programming of this festival event will guide the audience from Mozart to Hurník – both father and son. The concert will be opened by the famous overture to The Marriage of Figaro and closed by Ilja Hurník’s orchestral Leporelo (Concertina Book). His son Lukáš Hurník is also a composer, and he wrote the concertina Sturm and Drang for clarinet for the eminent Czech clarinettist Ludmila Peterková. Hummel’s trumpet concerto will showcase Martinů Competition laureate Walter Hofbauer. Martinů’s oeuvre will be represented by the splendid Serenade for Chamber Orchestra.
