Bohuslav Martinů Foundation Support

The Bohuslav Martinů Foundation may grant endowment contributions within the meaning of its mission, which, according to its statutes, is "to assist in every way in the knowledge, dissemination and application of the entire life work of Bohuslav Martinů and the knowledge of his life and personality in the broadest context in his homeland and throughout the world."

The Foundation can only support projects that make a significant contribution to the fulfilment of its mission.
Applications for foundation grants must include a brief description of the project, a full budget with a breakdown of costs and income, details of other sponsors and amounts raised or pledged, if any, at the time of application:
- In the case of requests for the loan of sheet music, a specific price must be indicated.
- In the case of concert series, festivals and concerts, the dramaturgy (programme of each concert, names of performers), indicating which specific works of Bohuslav Martinů are to be performed.
- In the case of organising music competitions, the jury, the conditions of the competition, the repertoire, in the case of performance courses, the number of participants, the names of the lecturers, the repertoire studied, again with reference to the works of Bohuslav Martinů (compulsory compositions).
The contributions are granted for a specific purpose and the conditions for their use and proper accounting are regulated by the relevant contract concluded between the Foundation and the applicant.
Terms and conditions for the endowment of foundation contributions:

1. Foundation contributions (hereinafter referred to as "contributions") may consist of both monetary and in-kind contributions.
2. The provision of a contribution must always help to fulfil the purpose of the Foundation.
3. The contribution must be intended to contribute to the foundation's purpose.
4. The Foundation shall be the sole judge of whether a contribution is justified.
5. The contribution may be granted at the request, on the advice or recommendation of third parties or on the Foundation's own initiative.
6. The Foundation determines the detailed conditions for granting a specific contribution. It may also specify more detailed requirements as to the form and content of the application for a contribution.
7. Depending on the nature of the case, the Foundation shall decide whether to pay the grant in advance, in specified instalments or subsequently.
8. The Foundation shall ensure that the recipient of the grant fulfils the statutory obligations (Section 21, paragraphs 3 and 4 of the Act) in an appropriate written form before the grant is made.
9. Contributions may only be made in accordance with the principles set out in paragraphs 1 to 8.
10. The range of beneficiaries of contributions is limited only by the Foundation's determination of whether the award of a contribution is desirable from the point of view of taking care to fulfil the Foundation's purpose. However, regardless of the circumstances, no contribution may be made if this is expressly prohibited by law (§ 21, paragraphs 5 and 6).
